What is your ID?
Updated: Jul 29, 2019
Sometimes we need to be reminded of who we are and what our true identification is.
We often like to think we are the accumulation of how much of something we have (like money or social media likes), or how good at something that we are (sports, academics, etc.).
However, when those things don't seem to fulfil us, we start believing the lie that our identity and self worth (or value) is derived from our past mistakes, failures, fears, past mistakes and mess-ups.
That is NOT who we are.
We are a beloved Child of God. We were created by God uniquely, by design. He knows us so incredible well, that He knows how many hairs are on our heads. He knew us before we were formed in our mother's womb.
Our identity (ID) is that we are loved by the Father, who created us and gave His son Jesus to die for us.
THAT is who we are.
EXERCISE: Print the attached "My ID" colouring page. Students can write their name, date and colour their portrait as a reminder of their true identity as a beloved child of God.
PRAYER: Thank you God, for Your love, for creating me and giving me the gift of life. Please come into my life and surround me with Your presence so I can live in Your will. Amen.
