Should the Reformation be "celebrated"?

This October 31st, 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, led by Martin Luther in the sixteenth century. But should this event be "celebrated"? When we examine the fruits of the Reformation, we realize it wasn't so much a true reformation, but rather a rebellion, a schism, falling away from historic Christianity, adopting new tenets of faith that are not found in the 1500 years prior. Let us remember this milestone anniversary, that true reformation is about an inner transformation as we seek after the fullness of truth.
