Going to Confession
For many, confessing our sins can be really difficult. We don’t like to admit our faults & failures and it seems easier to reside in our sin and shame. Perhaps we even justify or diminish our wrongdoing in an attempt to escape the feeling of guilt. Pope Francis had asked to keep the participation in the Sacrament of Reconciliation in our intentions because God is longing for us to be reconciled with Him!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). There is power and freedom when we bring what is kept in the darkness, into the light of His love. Whether it has been months or years, let us return to God like the prodigal child, longing to be embraced by His mercy!
